A dental crown (sometimes called a “tooth cap” by our patients) is used to restore a badly damaged or decayed tooth.
Not only can a front tooth crown repair a fragile tooth, but it can also improve the appearance of your smile.
Our Holland dentist uses porcelain crowns to match the color of your natural tooth enamel. That way, you can leave our dentist’s office smiling with confidence.
Porcelain Crowns Procedure
The dental crown procedure will take two visits to our office. Since the crown covers the entire visible portion of your tooth above the gum line, our dentist will need to remove enough enamel so the dental restoration doesn’t make your tooth look big or bulky. Next, our cosmetic dentist will take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab where your crown will be made. In the meantime, our dentist will place a temporary crown over your tooth.
Porcelain crowns help restore shape, size and strength!
When you come back for your second appointment, your tooth crown will be ready. Our dentist will make sure that the color, size, and shape of the dental crown looks natural with the rest of your smile. Next, he will replace your temporary crown with the permanent one. With proper care, a tooth crown will be able to withstand years of wear and tear.
Our porcelain crowns dentist at David Oswald DDS is dedicated to helping you achieve your best smile by offering porcelain crowns and other cosmetic dentistry services. To schedule an appointment with our Holland cosmetic dentist, call our office at (616) 392-2587.
